Charity Fundraising Week at Mount Stromlo High School – Week 6

In week 6 of this term (16-20 November), the Community Projects class are coordinating a charity fundraising week. Students have chosen charities they would like to support and have come up with activities to raise money, collect donations and raise awareness.

Here is a list of the activities that will be taking place throughout the week:

All Week
– People can donate new or pre-loved toys. These will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. Toys can be dropped off to the Front Office or Student Services.
– People can donate non-perishable foods (cans, boxes, bottles). The food will be donated to The Salvation Army. Food can be dropped off to the Front Office or Student Services.
– There will be a lolly guessing competition to raise money for The Orangutan Foundation.

Monday
– There will be an ice block sale at break 1 and 2 in the inner courtyard. The money will go to the Cancer Council.

Wednesday
– Cupcakes and brownies will be for sale at break 1 and 2 in the inner courtyard. The money will go to The Orangutan Foundation.

Thursday
– Students are encouraged to wear non-uniform clothing for a gold coin donation. The money raised will go to the RSPCA.

Friday
– There will be sponge throwing in the quad to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund. Students will get the opportunity to throw sponges at members of staff, all for a good cause!

We encourage everyone to get involved in at least one activity during the week.
