AFL Maths Challenge

Australia is celebrating Litearcy and Numeracy Week. Here at Mount Stromlo we are celebrating too by entering the 3P Learning AFL Maths Challenge. 3P Learning are the makers of Mathletics, Spellodrome and IntoScience.

This week we have had small incursions allowing students time to work on the challenge. First students have gone to their face-maker profile on Mathletics and selected their favourite beanie that is from the selection of AFL teams. Mr. Grieve claims that by wearing a Carlton beanie you earn double or even triple points but this is yet to be confirmed! The idea is to see which AFL team can finish on the top of the ladder via Live Mathletics points.

Students then play 1 game of live mathletics at levels 3, 4, 5 and 6. Then they can play any level of Live Mathletics from 3 and above. You must keep the beanie on as this tells the servers you are in the competition.

There are individual prizes on offer of gift vouchers and footballs! The school can win prizes too!

Yesterday we saw a glimpse of the leaderboard and we were coming 1st in the ACT!!! Interesting to note that the top AFL team was the Adelaide Crows. Go Mount Stromlo Go!!!

The competition ends on Sunday 31st August at midnight. Let’s kick some goals and get those individual certificates having scored 1000 points for the week!!!
