Indonesian Language class visits NGA’s Garden of the East exhibition.

This term has been a busy one for Indonesian at Stromlo! One of our excursions was the National Gallery of Australia where we visited the “Gardens of the East” photography exhibition which documents photography in Indonesia from the 1850s-1940s. Here is what one of our students had to say about the experience:

“The gallery was a fun experience to learn about and see what Indonesia looked like before and during the Dutch colonisation. It was interesting to see what the Indonesian ceremonies and performances looked like and what the temples and buildings looked like. The tour guides were kind and could answer most of our questions about the pictures.” – Yarno Rohling
