Students will recieve notes and order forms from their TEAM teachers and can also pick them up from the Front Office. Please do not hesitate to contact Julia Gale (Year 10 Coordinator)  if you have any queries at julia.gale@ed.act.edu.au.

New seedlings!

Beans

The senior Horticulture class are the proud parents of brand new baby seedlings.  We have been hard at work re-filling all the plots with fresh top soil and direct planting new seeds into our gardens.  Each group has ownership of a particular plot and will manage the weeds and watering as needed.  Thanks to a healthy dose of rain in the last week, our new plants have grown more than expected and we look forward to a fruitful harvest.

Stay tuned for more baby news when the timer goes off on the incubator.  Fresh baby chickens are always well received!

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Scholarship Program

At the end of last year, two year 10 students Isaiah Lane and Amy-Lee Hope began the process of applying for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Scholarships.  The process involved developing a portfolio containing examples of their work from years 9 and 10 and discussing how they met a list of competencies.  After constructing their portfolios they had to present them to a panel of teachers and departmental representatives in a 30 minute interview.  Both Amy-Lee and Isaiah shone in their interviews, impressing the panel with their level of preparation and list of extra-curricular activities. There were a large number of applicants from across the ACT, with eight scholarships on offer.  Both Isaiah and Amy-Lee were awarded scholarships to support them through college and into university.

On Friday 21st March, the scholarship recipients were publically congratulated by Joy Burch and Dianne Joseph.  Congratulations to Isaiah and Amy-Lee for this amazing achievement.
