Year 10 Careers Interviews 2013

This year we will be offering Year 10 students the opportunity to attend a 15 minute meeting with our careers advisor, Ms Tegan Makowski in order to discuss their career pathways after high school.  We are aiming to interview all Year 10 students throughout the remainder of 2013.  If your child would like to take advantage of these interviews earlier in the year can they please advise either Jo Power or Tegan Makowski of their request and we will schedule these interviews first.  If students or parents do not wish their child to participate in a meeting with a careers advisor then students are able to respectfully decline when they receive their invitation.  It is of course encouraged that all students take advantage of this opportunity.

Ms Makowski will allocate students a time and date to attend  through invitations which will be distributed in TEAM each morning.  TEAM 48 will be the first to receive their invites next week.

Any further questions please email: or

Year 10 Formal 2013 – The National Arboretum Canberra

The 2013 Year 10 Formal is booked for Wednesday 4th December 2013. The event is set to take place at the stunning National Arboretum set above Canberra with panoramic views of the city.

The Year 10 Formal Committee will be working hard throughout the year fundraising for the event.

To try and lesson the impact of the cost of the Formal to families, the opportunity is available to start making monetary deposits to the school Finance Office throughout the year to pay off the cost of your child’s Formal Ticket.

This year the cost of the Formal ticket will include entry to this years formal including a 3 course meal as well as a copy of the 2013 School Mag.

Due to the uncertainty of not knowing how much money will be raised through fundraising, a exact price for each ticket is unclear. However as a rough guide the 2013 Stromlo High Formal Ticket will be around the $100 – $120 range. An exact price will be made available to families later on in the year.

To lesson the overall end of year expenses to Year 10 families, you can make arrangements to begin paying for your child’s Formal ticket through the school’s Finance Office.

For more information regarding the 2013 Year 10 Formal, please contact Ryan Bissell or to speak to Finance about making payments for your child’s ticket contact Sue or Melissa in Finance
